OpenAI is a research organization that focuses on developing and promoting friendly artificial intelligence (AI). It was founded in 2015 by a group of entrepreneurs, including Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and Greg Brockman, with the goal of advancing AI in a way that is safe and beneficial to humanity.
OpenAI conducts research in a variety of areas related to AI, including machine learning, robotics, economics, and computer science. The organization is known for developing a number of influential AI technologies, including GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer), a state-of-the-art language model that can generate human-like text; DALL-E, a machine learning model that can generate images from textual descriptions; and AlphaGo, a machine learning system that was able to defeat human champions at the board game Go.
